We Cultivate Tea For Everyday Tea Drinkers

The ChaiHouse is a tea plantation set up by an English tea planters to son.
It is a community based, tea business, working together with a small, isolated village called Akumen, In Nagaland, which lays directly adjacent to Assam, India.  With untouched, chemical free, forest soil and the advantage of a high altitude, to neighbouring Assam, it lends itself to the perfect conditions to grow the finest teas. The forest garden tea leaves are handpicked by the community workers, from a single estate tea garden. The leaves are loaded with poly ethanol antioxidants, including many catechism. These antioxidants have many beneficial effects on her health.

Green Tea is made from the leaves of Camellia sinensis that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea has grown in popularity in recent years, for its many health benefits, fresh taste and lower caffeine levels compared to black tea.

Nagaland’s rolling hills, cloaked in mist and rich biodiversity, provide an ideal setting for organic green tea cultivation. Grown at elevations of 1,000–2,000 meters, the tea plants benefit from cool climates, abundant rainfall, and nutrient-rich soil, free from synthetic chemicals.

Harvesting Process

  • Hand-Picking: Indigenous farmers carefully pluck the top two leaves and a bud during the prime harvest months (March–November), ensuring premium quality.

  • Organic Practices: No chemical pesticides or fertilizers are used, preserving the ecosystem and enhancing the tea’s natural properties.

  • Minimal Processing: Freshly harvested leaves are quickly withered, steamed, or pan-fired to halt oxidation, retaining the green hue and subtle, grassy flavor.
